Feature and Follow #10

Weekly Meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.
This is a weekly meme where we answer questions and blog hop to find new blogs to follow. You follow me I will follow you back

Q: Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?
That is a hard one. I don't think they do. It would make logical sense but I can't remember a time where my mood remained unchanged for a long period of time; enough for me to read a new book. No matter my emotional mood, I usually read what I was reading any way. If I am not in the mood for reading that is a different matter. Or I may not be in the mood for the particular book; happy or sad. My current mood may, however, affect what book I decide to read next. That is just by chance what I am feeling at that specific moment in time.

The only time I can think of where my reading habits do change is when I am stressed, especially around exam season. I have very little free time therefore I devote it all to reading instead of other pastimes. I get through quite a lot of books during those periods.

  1. I totally agree with this. I tend to use reading as a form of escapism, especially in stressful periods, but I'm one of those people who hates leaving a book half-read, so I won't often change one book for another!

    Happy Friday!

  2. So your reading is steady. That's better than depending on moods, though it's the other way for me ;)

  3. Yeah that's what I do. I read whatever I want to read no matter my personal mood! Books can actually help put me in a better mood too!

  4. Books and stress . . . don't get me started! I could not survive life without having books to get lost in when things go pear-shaped! I'm a new follower from FF. you can find me at: http://todayinshenaya.blogspot.com

  5. I'm the opposite, I practically stop erading altogether when I'm too busy! Like, if I have a lot of exams, I use my free time to hang out with friends or revise, so I'm not too stressed.

Me too! If I'm not in the mood for something, I won't force myself to read it. Great answers, Becky!
